Although mikroElektronika sponsored several international robotics competitions last year, we would like to
present you with a particular one - International Student Competition Hardware and Software, held in Banja
Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 1–6 November 2010.

Eight student Teams from four neighboring countries applied with interesting solutions for this year's
assignment. Theme was to build a specialized robot vehicle that could move on a path determined by the
black line and wirelessly send all sorts of interesting information, such as the altitude, speed, acceleration
and distance.

We were proud to be a sponsor of the competition, and every team was provided with EasyAVR6 development system,
mikroC PRO for AVR compiler and additional boards, such as Accelerometer Board and EasyBT Board.

When sent on a task, using specialized 3D layout software, robot could plot a 3D model of the terrain by
crossing over a predefined path. It is really interesting to see how terrain is emerging in 3D based on the
information acquired by the robot. Winners of 2010. contest were guys from Sarajevo team that worked on
a robot they called Asuro. Congratulations guys, your work was really impressive.

The competition's Official Website is full of great information. Each team wrote an article about how the project
went on, what difficulties they faced and how they spent their time in Banja Luka. Besides that, each team
provided a Power Point presentation accompanied by video. But the best thing is that each team provided a
free project source codes
packed with mikroElektronika Package Manager, so anyone can download and
install it with a single click and use it to build a robot of his own.

Great work, guys, just great!
