EasyPIC is an old friend. Many of us made our first steps in embedded world with EasyPIC. Today it has thousands of users: students, hobbyists, enthusiasts, and professionals. It’s used in many schools and other educational institutions across the globe.
We asked ourselves what we can do to make such a great board even greater. And we equipped it with our revolutionary new programmer & debugger - CODEGRIP. We now present you with the new version 7a that brings so much more, and we hope that you will be thrilled with your new board, just as we are.

are available for purchase separately!
Powerful on-board CODEGRIP USB-C programmer and In-Circuit debugger can program and debug over 260 microcontrollers. You will need it, whether you are a professional or a beginner.
Just plug in your Click board, and it’s ready to work. We picked up a set of the most useful pins you need for development and made a pinout standard you will enjoy using.
EasyPIC v7a is all about connectivity. Having four different connectors for each port, you can connect accessory boards, sensors, and your custom electronics easier than ever before.
EasyPIC v7a is among few development boards which support both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. This feature greatly increases the number of supported MCUs. It’s like having two boards instead of one!
CODEGRIP is a unified solution, designed to perform programming and debugging tasks on a range of different microcontroller devices (MCUs) based on the Microchip PIC architecture. The USB-C connector offers improved performance and reliability, compared to traditionally used USB Type A/B connectors.
The powerful CODEGRIP module, an integrated programmer/debugger module supports a wide range of different 8-bit PIC MCUs, produced by Microchip. It allows in-place programming and debugging of all the supported MCUs, offering many useful programming/debugging options and seamless integration with the Mikroe software environment.
EasyPIC v7a development board is supported by a powerful CODEGRIP Suite, offering complete control over the EasyPIC v7a development board. It is used to intelligently manage programming and debugging tasks, and to configure various other options and settings, providing visual feedback through its clean and comprehensive Graphical User Interface (GUI). To better understand how to operate and configure EasyPIC v7a development board and its integrated CODEGRIP module, a separate manual is provided on this link.
The complete board area is divided into several sections, arranged so that all the related components, switches, buttons, indicators, and connectors are logically positioned and grouped together.
Touch panel controller with connector is provided for analog resistive touch panels attached to the GLCD 128x64 to form GLCD Touch screen.
Programmer USB connector is connected to on-board mikroProg, but can also be used to power the board, when the J6 jumper in the Power Supply section is in the USB position.
Board is equipped with power supply unit capable of supporting both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. Board can be powered over USB cable, or external adapter connectors.
FTDI chip allows your EasyPIC v7a board to be connected with a PC through USB cable over UART connection.
We have provided additional PORT header on the left side of the board, so you can now access the desired microcontroller pins on the other side of the board too.
GLCD and LCD backlight can be driven with PWM signal from the microcontroller, or they can be turned on in full brightness.
You can store 8x256 bytes of configuration data or other data into on-board 24AA01 Serial EEPROM with I2C interface.
You can simulate analog inputs using two provided analog potentiometers which can be connected to each of the 10 supported microcontroller analog input pins.
This potentiometer allows you to adjust the contrast level of the pixels on your GLCD 128x64 display.
This potentiometer allows you to adjust the contrast level of the pixels on your LCD 2x16 character display.
You can implement UART communication through RS-232 connector provided on the board.
On-board CODEGRIP In-Circuit Debugger and programmer supports over 260 microcontrollers from Microchip.
Driving 7-segment displays is fun! EasyPIC v7a provides 4-digit display for your applications.
Board is equipped with LCD 2x16 connector which allows you to connect LCD 2x16 display and place it securely using plastic distancer, specially designed for this purpose.
You can place GLCD 128x64 display directly on the board and firm it in place securely using high-quality plastic distancer, specially designed for this purpose.
With piezo buzzer you can debug your applications, or have audio signalization feature. It can be connected to two digital output pins, one of which is the output of PWM module.
If you need to use other external programmer with EasyPIC v7a, we have provided the ICD compatible connector, so you can override the on-board CODEGRIP.
Board provides USB-B connector necessary for writting applications that use USB communication. Connector can be routed to either PORTC or PORTA, depending on the target microcontroller.
High quality reset button with surrounding reset circuitry ensures stable reset operation.

Board supports Dallas DS1820 One-Wire digital temperature sensor. You can measure temperatures from -55C to +125C (-67F to +257F), with 0.5C accuracy.
The LM35 is a low-cost precision integrated-circuit analog temperature sensor. It can measure temeperatures from -55C to +150C with 0.25C accuracy at room temperatures.
With just enough RAM and Flash, PIC18F45K22 microcontroller will provide you with enough power for most of your projects.
8Mhz oscillator circuit that provides external clock is connected to microcontroller osc pins.
Three separate GND pins are available on the board for easier connection of GND reference for oscilloscope probes.
We have also provided 1x10 soldering pads for further connectivity in each Input/Output group.
Push buttons in each Input/Output group enable you to have digital inputs on each port pin. Buttons are of high quality and have an exceptional and stable response.
Two male IDC10 port headers are available in each Input/Output group, which is convenient for easier access to any PORT pin.
Tri-state DIP switches are used to enable 4K7 pull-up or pull-down resistor on ony desired PORT pin.
Each Input/Output PORT group contains red SMD LEDs with low current consumption of only 1mA. Board contains total of 36 LEDs for PORT pins.
