Programmer received data with errors (GLCD + EasyPIC5)

#1 Post by Pena4521 » 06 Mar 2008 13:53

Everything is working fine with my Easypic5, but when I try to program the GLCD or touchpanel examples I got the error message:

"Programmer received data with errors" and then

"programmig failed"

program 1611 errors
eeprom 0 errors
ids 0 errors

All the other examples worked well, but for some reason the GLCD or touch panel examples not. MCU is default PIC16F877A

Could anyone help me?

Are you using a USB Hub at all? Make sure it is one of the USB ports directly connected to your MainBoard, back of the PC most likely. Lets here more, did you make sure you using the proper code example, usually it contains pascal, C and basic, make sure you using the one for your compiler.

Let me know,

I also got the same problem. Not only with 16F877A but also with 18F4550 examples.

What I could conclude finally was all hex files which are slightly bigger will create problem definitely.

Further I observed suddenly the Red color program LED will go OFF in the middle of the program and after some time PICFLASH will show the errors

Then I suspected the USB interface of my notebook which was based on RS485M + SB460 chipset.

So I used easypic5 with my desktop PC which was having Intel 965G chipset. I never face the problem now.

I suspect the problem could be due to some low level USB protocol/speed issues.

So what you could try

-change the PC
-check your PC is having all drivers installed and driver issues in device manager
-check you are using USB2.0 port
-check USB cable

Hi,

You should fill in the interaction on our Support Desk,
http://www.mikroe.com/en/support/

There you can fill the form which will make things go faster then on the forum.
Instead of me asking you which MCU you are using, jumper settings etc... and wasting a lot of everyones time.

Hi,

I use Easpic5 with 16F877A, 18F2550 or 18F4550.

I have a similar problem :

When I transfer the program, I get an error message with 91, 124 (random) errors.

This occurs roughly 1 to 2 times.

Generally, I make a reset of the Easypic5 and a new transfer, and that goes well then.

Do you have an idea ?

Have you tried everything that is posted in this thread? Just to make sure we don't repeat what was already stated.

Cheers,

Yes,

- I use a direct USB connexion to my PC (no hub)

- The usb works well with other equipment.

- The USB drivers are installed, I have no error in the list of hardware périphéral.

- Another clarification: I am using Windows XP SP2 on a Compaq desktop.

The error was totally random (with small or big code)

Please insure you have the the updated drivers from Compaq's web site, they tend to make many firmware updates to their hardware. I still think it is a usb compatibility issue, which could be the drivers themselves not only the hardware.

Just remember Occam's theorem;)

I don't know if this applies to you ,but if you have the GLCD and the touch panel attached to the board while trying to program then that may be the problem. Remove the GLCD and touch panel and see what that does.

Hello,

Please try reinstalling the drivers with 'Run As Administrator' option from right click mouse menu.

Are you able to try the board on some other PC?

Best regards.
