Starting out; How to compare and pick my clicks

#1 Post by pclewisnz » 23 Aug 2020 07:08

Hi,
I'm starting out, very interested in some of the IoT offerings. I'm looking to start on a small project however I find the volume of choices on boards in my chosen field staggering.
Specifically, how do some of you pick your board? Do you read and research all about the underlying silicon used and determine your best fit from there? I see a reviews forum here so do you go there and look at others' experience?

My current needs are around Temp&Humidity logging, Air quality logging
The application is for a family member who breeds rats (pets) so the temp range does not have to be extreme (some go as low as -50c!)
The air quality sensor is mostly to keep tabs on NH3 levels which are the most likely to fluctuate depending on activity going on.

I find several Clicks, can't say any of them look better or worse than the others. Some that have all I need on one board whilst others seem to have higher sensitvity to gases when tuned that way.

If there were only one or tow Temp&Humidity board I might not feel overwhelmed but given there are so many I decided to ask.

I plan to run two systems and compare results. One will be the https://www.mikroe.com/environment-click because it seems to do all in one
The other system I was thinking of using https://www.mikroe.com/air-quality-4-click due to it's reported robustness compared with other types of sensor, and add to this one of the many "Temp&Hum" Clicks. This is where my dilemma lay. Whilst I go through the research process, I'm asking here to see what advice I may get on my specific query as well as the general - how to pick my click :)

Many tanks

Hello,

The biggest difference is the main module on the Click board. Basically, you have to look through its documentation, compare them and see which one suits your needs the best. Most of them perform similarly.
You are already browsing the correct category on the website:
