Unbelievablely long compilation time V4.60

#1 Post by burgerfeet » 16 Jan 2011 13:10

Hi,

I don't know if anybody else has seen this problem but since putting V4.60 PRO on it can take up to 1 minute for the build routine to complete. The actual reported build time comes back as 60'ish milliseconds. The actual problem is that the process starts saying it is build and then sits there for up to a minute in some cases, typically 30 seconds. Then all of a sudden the build messages will be displayed shown RAM, ROM %'s etc. This happens on a good build.

I am going to go back a version or two and see what happens.

System:
Windows 7 Premium 64 bit

UPDATE:
Have rolled back to Version 4.50 and that works perfectly.

Hi!

We didn't have similar reports. Is it possible for you to send me your project (which compiled 30 secs) and I'll try
to reproduce the issue you're talking about.
My personal email: slavisa.zlatanovic@mikroe.com

P.S.
Try to disable (if used) your anti-virus software during compilation.
Best regards
Slavisa

XPSP3/32bit/MikroC4.60.

No such issues so far. I do have some issues with PICFlash2 programmer (MikroProg Suite v1.04) giving errors at 'verifying config word' randomly.

Hi Asad!

Please, send me the screenshot of the error message.
My email is: slavisa.zlatanovic@mikroe.com
Which development board are you using?
Which MCU(s) are you having problems programming?
Best regards

I am using PICFlash2 (with ICD support) to program an 18F8723 microcontroller. The error in the screen above appears randomly and sometimes both MikroC Pro and MikroProg Suite need to be restarted to improve its chances of working. I brought two of these PICFlash2 two months or so back. However, MikroICD works perfectly fine for debugging/executing the program line-by-line.

Hi!

I've seen that you've opened a support ticket regarding the same issue.
We'll continue this interaction there.
Best regards
Slavisa
