MCP23S17 for SPI communication

#1 Post by toobajaved » 13 Mar 2009 10:04

Hi, I have a EasydsPIC4 board without any port expander. I want to connect it with Ethernet Proto board. I have tried many mikroE codes but nothing work.

I want to know whether MCP23S17 is important for SPI communication?or we can directly connect the ethernet board with dsPIC board.

I tried mikroE SPI GLCD code for testing SPI, but it doesnot work at all. simple GLCD works perfectly.

Please help!

what i found myself is MCP is a serial to parallel converter!! so inorder to use the SPI_GLCD library, MCP should be present.

Otherwise we can use simple glcd lib.
