Any plans to support AVR32?

#1 Post by LGR » 29 May 2007 17:28

I just noticed that Atmel has a chip called AVR32, that resembles an ARM in terms of capabilities (LCD controller, ethernet MAC, etc.). I'm not sure if this is really an extension of the 8-bit AVR family, or something unique unto itself.

After looking around a little, it appears to be completely different from the AVR-8. I don't think compiler support would be practical (it looks like it's meant to be used with Linux), but a development board for a reasonable price would be nice. :D

Hello,
there is the ATNGW100 Board from Atmel,
this board gets subsidized by atmel for a short time
to make the AVR32 more well-known.

Its possible to develope this MCU without linux,

...but you need for AVR32 4-layer PCBs,
i think this is to expensive for hobby.

An Pascal-Compiler for ARM would be very nice!

Best regards

Yes, Pascal compiler! For me C is write only language.
