MkroProg is unable to program any device on Windows10 64 bit

#1 Post by szmolnar » 19 Jul 2017 16:37

Hi!

I have an EasyPIC Fusion v7 and a MacBook running Windows 10 x64 under VMware.

I installed "Windows (64 bit) - Vista, Win 2008, 7, 8, 8.1" / "USB18PRG-Vista-x64" driver as administrator and windows is reporting that it is OK. "This device is working properly."
"
Driver Provider: mikroElektronika
Driver Date: 4/15/2008
Driver Version: 6.0.6001.18000
Driver Signer: MikroElektronika
"
I installed MikroProg v2.60 as administrator. MikroProg can detect the programmer as "mikroProg Firmware v2.11 - mikroProg Device", I can read voltages with it but nothing more. Reading, or writing to an MCU or a simple Erase or Reset will not work, nothing is happening just the Yellow LED is ON.

On same computer but on a 32 bit Windows 10 everything is working just fine.
I noticed that the 32 bit driver is newer (Driver Date: 10/07/2010, Driver Version: 6.1.7600.0 ) which might be the reason why everything is working on a 32 bit environment.

Can anyone help me to get things working on Windows 10 64 bit?

Hello,

We have not experienced any troubles with the real windows 10 environment. You should install the drivers as "administrator", else they might not be installed properly. Maybe there are some problems with the virtual machine itself / some of it's settings. Again - on the real Windows 10 64bit I have no problems running it - I can confirm that it is not OS related.

Make sure that you are using the same settings for the mikroProg on both windows 32 and 64. Make sure that you have selected the correct MCU from the drop down menu

Also try double clicking at the label "mikroProg Firmware v2.11 - mikroProg Device" in the USB > show devices and check if it displays your firmware version like on the attached image

Best regards
