Led chaser (knight rider) using pic 16F877a

Hello guys.. i want to built a led chaser which is like "knight rider". I dont want to have only the knight rider function in it.. I want put a button that is when the button is pressed, it different kinds of blinks. I dont know how to start the codes..Some helps pls.. :)
