mikroC for PIC32
mikroC for PIC32
Any plans for a version of mikroC for the PIC32 series? We have started evaluating them and the performance is really amazing.
I noticed that over at the Microchip forum, some people have succeeded at putting a gcc C system together for the PIC32:

If ME develops hardware for the PIC32, I would hope that they would package this toolchain for use with it. Actually developing mikroC for the PIC32 would be a lot of re-inventing of the wheel. But maybe not.

We're deep into PIC32 compiler development, and are much pleased with how things are going. After some heavy work has been done, we are very excited to share the historical moment of first LED blinking project actually written, compiled and programmed directly from our mikroC PRO for PIC32 compiler. Click here to watch the historical video, and share the feeling with us. We have worked for merely two months, and have accomplished much of what we projected:
- IDE
- Edit Project section
- Start Up Code
- Definition Files
- Front End
- SSA optimizer
- Code Generator
- Linker
- Simulator
- Extended MCL reader/writer
We'll be reporting our progress occasionally, so we recommend you should keep your eyes open for more good news are comming soon!

After four months of hard work, we have officially begun The Alpha Testing of PIC32 compilers.
This means that we have finished most of the work, and are now ready to polish things a bit.
Our development Team is now focused on writing examples, testing libraries, speeding up IDE where ever possible,
and making the whole compiler as ready as possible for upcoming Beta release.
