The ATmega4809 Xplained Pro Board is a development kit for evaluating the ATmega4809 AVR® microcontroller. The board features one mikroBUS™ socket, for Click board™ connectivity.
The board is supported in Atmel Studio and has an onboard Embedded Debugger (EDBG), so you don't need any additional tools to program the ATmega4809.
Some of the more standard features are selectable target voltage (3.3V or 5V), a USB interface, mechanical buttons, and different LEDs.
This brings the number of Microchip boards with a mikroBUS™ socket to fifteen. You can see the full list in our Learn article.
Why is everyone adding the mikroBUS™?
We keep adding boards to the list. Everyone seems to want to add some mikrobUS™ sockets to their design.
It's no wonder, considering that with only one mikroBUS™ socket you get access to hundreds of different functionalities. Every Click board you plug in brings something to your project - from wireless transceivers and audio amplifiers to motor control, LED display and GSM communication.
We have a range of Click boards that is constantly growing. Just like your project's potential if you add a mikroBUS™ socket to it.
Add the mikroBUS™ socket to your board
If you are planning to make a board yourself — no problem. As long as you adhere to the standard specifications, you are allowed to include a mikroBUS™ socket in your design.
