UNI-DS3 ADC example

#1 Post by Kaiomat » 24 Oct 2009 02:46

Hello,
I am beginner with this stuff. Could someone please give me a hint or little explanation how I have to connect a voltage to the board's 12-bit ADC connector with the numbers 0,1,2,3 and where I have to connect the ground to measure the voltage with the ADC_to_LCD example? And at which position does the reference voltage jumper has to be for ADC (VCC or 4.096)? Is it necessary to use a resistor to protect the input from too high current?

With best regards,
Kaiomat

Hello,

If in example is used Adc_Read(2), you would use connector with number 2 (channel 2). You can connect ground to DAC connector (right besides ADC connector, on one marked with "-", this is also board's GND). You can use both positions of the mentioned jumper (5V and 4.096V as voltage reference), using 4.096V option is more optimal for calculations.
