ICD not supported message

#1 Post by dangerous » 28 Apr 2022 14:02

Hi,

Owing to a shortage of supply of 18F45K22, we have purchased some 18F45K42 from the Microchip. I can program them with mikroBasici V7.6.0. via MikroProg but get the message "ICD not supported in mikroProg for this MCU".

Is there an update availabe to allow this please? Is it supported in CodeGrip?

Hi,

Can you please download mikroProg Suite for PIC v2.90 and update the firmware for mikroProg ?

Regards,
Filip.

Thanks Filip

I have been diverted from this project for a few months, so I only just picked up the instructions.

It works perfectly now, thank you.

I was wrong again!

The 45K42 programs pertectly well from the EasyPic7, but still does not allow ICD from the EasyPic7.

Details are: MikroBasic V7.6.0, MP firmware (EasyPic7) V2.1,1 Device Firmware v01.16.12.21 (Shows as up to date). Updated to Mikro Prog suite v2.90 as suggested.

Program running with 32MHz Int Osc. 463 bytes ROM used and 5 bytes RAM. Message reads "ICD Not supported in mirkoProg for this MCU" when programming is selected from Mikrobasic with ICD set in Project edit page.

Any ideas?

Hi,

It can be downloaded from here :
https://www.mikroe.com/mikroprog-pic-dspic-pic32

The debugging is not supported for this MCU I'm afraid.

Filip.

I bought the EasyPic 8 about 18 months ago and that seems incompatible with MikroBasic as well. It supports programming the 18F45K42 but I cannot get it to debug at all.

Is it a problem with the EP8 programming system or is there just no way that MB will debug this particular chip? Is support for Mikrobasic being dropped?

I have downgraded the firmware in the EP8 / Codegrip but it seems that unless I am prepared to move to an other codeing system (and to learn C for starters) there is no debug at all for the 18F45K42 and its associated parts. Is it possible tp debug this series of PICs with Codegrip suite /Netco studio?

Is there any progress toward making the EP8 work with MB? The latest release of firmware for Codegrip seems to have had no effect.

I may have to revert to MPLAB which is a shame as MikroBasic has been a great platform to work on.

Hi,

If you have downgraded both CODEGRIP Suite and CODEGRIP Firmware to version 1.3, you also need to replace the following DLL file in the compiler's installation folder.

Restart the compiler and try now to program.

Filip.

Thanks Filip.

If this is the same dll as before then that stops it altogether as it is appears to be for 32Bit windows from memory, however I will set it all back to V1.3 again and try. It did update to V1.6 at some stage recently and I hoped that would sort it out, but it did not.
