you will loose many potential customers if your are not able to follow new Microchip MCU
because obliged to use MPLABX instead ...
and no trust anymore with MikroE

I'm afraid there isn't any news yet, you will be able to see new compiler releases on our official blog and website, once it has been confirmed.
I understand perfectly what you are saying and I assure you our developers are aware of the fact that there are many requests for supporting the 18FQ family.

Another three months has gone by since the last post. There are now almost 20 Q-seires PIC18 available.

I have a new design coming up and my choices are:

1. Use an older PIC and risk discontinuation
2. Find a new compiler that supports the new devices

I would really like to continue to use Mikro-C but if' I'm going to have to make a change to use new devices, the sooner the better.

I just saw that Microchip has a component, the PIC18F27Q84, which I think is their lowest-cost processor with built-in CAN operation. At less than US$2.00, it looks interesting, though the complications if you get into CAN-FD are intimidating! But so far I have an excuse not to try it--"the compiler doesn't support it".

Edited to say I do see that similar devices are already supported, so I could get started if I want to!

I am sure you are aware that the PIC18F45Q family is now being recommended for new projects, ie the PIC18F25K22 . . . hmm makes you wonder what that could mean for supply of the device.

Is there any news on the way forward for the support of the Q family of devices?

the new PIC18Q series has become essential for the designer, if you don't update the IDE we find ourselves in trouble and are forced to leave Mikroe.
Please think about it and update our work tools.

When I read other forum threads about the new MCU support...so I decided to leave the MikroC Pro PIC compiler after more than 14 years. The compiler is no longer keeping up with the times. But it won't be NECTO. The Microelectronika team disappointed me.

I am truly sorry that you feel like this, why don't you consider using NECTO Studio ? It is free of charge, all you need to do is to try it.

For now it is supporting PIC18F57Q43, but the support for others is coming.

Why should I buy another license (monthly/yearly) for commercial use (I have a MikroC Pro PIC license) if I don't know if your support will continue and for how long?
