TCP/IP Stack

#1 Post by kalle » 12 Nov 2010 22:27

Hello,

I'd like to suggest a better TCP/IP Stack. I'm working with MikroC compiler, I have allways been working with MikroC and I'd like to continue working with MikroC. I like the MikroC compiler very much but at the moment I need to use Microchip's C-compiler since there is no acceptable TCP/IP Stack provided by mikroe. I can't understand the size limitations and I can't understand why it is not possible to provide a good stack. At least Microchip is capable of doing so ...
Maybe there would be a chance to transform the Microchip-stack to a usable format with MikroC. I've been spending a lot of money in your compilers and I like them since they are very very good to use and there are many useful libraries.

Maybe you should pay attention to more complexe issues (like the TCP/IP stack) than to mighty simple libs like a SoftPWM library. I think you can do your own SoftPWM within say 10 lines while a TCP/IP stack is too complex to be programmed by a user.

Thank you very much for considering my opinion

Kalle,
It is very difficult to say what is more important softPWM of TCP/IP... maybe someone is making living on softPWM, others on TCP/IP.

From that reason it is very difficult to choose what is older and more important.

We work on both, however, just the time needed for making it right is long.

I'd like to join Kalle, with his request.

In today's technology, I can't see an embedded module that eventually
don't communicate to the world with TCP/IP, ZigBee or any other modern method.
I think it is important that mikroElektronica, will invest in this direction,
If they want to keep the professionals and not only the hobbies.

You have a good product & a good approach, please make it better.

+1 for TCP/IP stack.

So far this is the only item that has me shopping for other compilers.
