3D cam for for FPV and more.

#1 Post by mikroSeven » 30 Mar 2019 19:43

Resently, I finished my prototype of a 3D-cam
and I want it to show here.
It works fine, so next step is to take it to the next level: a smaller pcb etc.

Of course, one could buy a digital 3D cam!
But I wanted to build my own and affordable

It's based on "line alternating 3D".
It uses 2 analog cams (PAL or NTSC).

The principiple ( line alternating 3D ) I got from internet but the whole software I made from zero up!

The hardware and software switches altenately between the 2 synchronized cams.

E.q. first cam the odd lines, the second cam the even lines.

At the receiver side, the odd and even lines are seperated an wil go on a split screen e.q. on your smartphone.

Here you see the 2 cam's:

Here you see the picture how it is going to be send:
( on the prototype there's an connector with "combined video out" )

Some extra info:

The hardware and software synchonizes the 2 cam's and switches between the 2 cam's correctly.

The combined video-signal is sent by a analog video transmitter.

In my case:

5.8 GHz 600 mW 48CH Mini TS5828 Module

As receiver, I'using:

Mini 5.8G FPV receiver UVC Video Downlink OTG VR Android

When finished the final pcb, Ill post more details etc.

Kind regards

For the time being, some pictures of the signals:
( extended details will come after finishing pcb V2.0 )

Here you see the signals derived from cam-A and cam-B:
( this is done by 2 LM1881 ic's )

V2.0 will have more resolution, but in analog-cam's terms it's calles "more lines"!

As said, more later.
First to finish other projects.
For those interested, look here:

( when those are finished, I will post it on mikroE-forum as 1 topic, ofcourse concentraded on the software part )

Have fun watching!

Takes some time, not that much working recently on this project.

Jumped from AutoDesk-Eagle to CircuitMaker.

This is some exciting: the pcb's have arived!

First 'real' pcb's sind school and besides the roadrunner-pcb projects....!
Sure, improvements can be done, but it's a learning proces also!
( e.g.: via's are like sinkholes... :D

Work to do!

To be continued!

Kind regards.
