Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Hello,
I Have tested the new beta version and i have seen that somthing is displayed wrong in the routine list and code explorer.
not every procedures are listed.
I have the same problem in the 2.10 version.
also in 2 different (big) programms
Example:
the main unit has ~1400 line but the routine explorer displays only 134.
on line 134 he found main, but main is on line 1261...
totally i have 25 procedures/functions in this main unit but i can only see 5 from them (and main)
but main is also (if i make a double click on it) on the wrong line (134).
on other units of this programm i have the same problem.
everytime the routine list displays somwhere in the middle of the programm the main procedure and after this i have no more procedures or functions in the list.
best regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,
yes, this is the compiler bug, and I passed your project to our software developers in order to fix it.
Thank you for pointing this, and once again sorry for this inconvenience.

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Hi, is there any indication on when this problem will be fixed?
I reported the problem in early May and we have had an update since which has made no difference. I provided a video to MikroElectronika demonstrating the problem and it is now getting worse, almost making MikroC PRO unusable.
I am shortly going to be finishing this project and starting a new one and I do not want to have to buy someone else's compiler.
The routine list used to be refreshed every time I closed MikroC PRO and re-opened it but now it just remains static and does not include new routines any more. I have over 3500 lines of code and finding individual sections is a nightmare. My delay routine is at line 3452 but routine list thinks it is at 3304.

we are in the last stage of testing the new version of compiler, and I am confident that the new release
will be available in the next one-two weeks. Considering that we will make a thorough revision of software for AVR,
I hope you understand how huge of a job this is, and ask for your patience.
You can always send as a mail and we will update you on the progress regarding AVR.
I hope that you will continue to use our products, and that they will lead you and your company to success.

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Thank you Losic Tihomir for your reply.
One thing I forgot to mention is that the problem I am experiencing is with MikroC PRO for PIC, not MikroPascal PRO for AVR. I am assuming it is the same problem as the symptoms are exactly the same and relate to the IDE interface which I would assume to be the same bit of windows code that you would use for the IDE interface for each of your products.
Kind Regards,
Dave

as you can see in screen shot, this bug is fixed, and this beta will be available tomorrow or the latest at Friday for download.
This is preliminary screen shot of new version of our compiler. Dave and other visitors of this topic, you have the honor to be the first one to see it

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Hello,
we are announcing a release of new BETA version of mikroC PRO for PIC compiler with a lot of useful upgrades. New PIC beta compilers have arrived,
bringing new and exciting features and lots of improvements! All reported bugs are fixed, IDE polished and improved with many new features.
UAC problem is finally solved, by introducing new UAC-Ready installations, which will eliminate all previous problems on Windows 7 and Vista.
For the first time we introduced support for mid-rande PIC16F1xxxx family of microcontrollers. Introducing as much as 56 new chips, we
greatly expanded the list of supported microcontrollers. We would like to thank all of you who helped, and we want you to know that your
support and patience is very valuable to us.

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Hello Mikroe-Team,
Why the topic is moved now to the mikroC pro for pic forum?
I have made this topic for mikropascal pro for AVR Beta 3.2.
When we can calculate with a new Beta-Version or release for this compiler?
The problem for the code explorer in my case is #13 and #11 in the code
from this line i canot see more functions procedures in the list
Best Regards,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,LJStefan wrote:Why the topic is moved now to the mikroC pro for pic forum?
in few of your previous posts you used mikroC PRO for PIC, so I moved this topic to mikroC PRO for PIC General forum.
There is no problem to turn it back, or if it is not problem, you can create new topic,
where you can follow everything about new release for AVR.
Surely, we are in the last stage of testing the new version of compilers for AVR,
and I am confident that the new release will be available in the next two-three weeks.

Hello tihomir losic,
I have never made a posting for any c compiler....
But it makes no sense (if this bug is corrected in the new version).

Stefan
since 2006, i only use mikropascal for avr.tihomir.losic wrote:in few of your previous posts you used mikroC PRO for PIC,

Hello Stefan,
you are right... It's my oversight, in previous reply user ISL_Dave used mikroC PRO,
and I moved this topic.
On your suggestion, I moved back your report, and I am so sorry for this inconvenience.
I'll inform you when new release come, and I hope that you will be delighted with it.
Once again, sorry for this inconvenience, and thank you for your supporting.
Best regards,

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
To tihomir.losic or the uTeam
I had a lot of trouble when it said mikroC, "Moved", for "PIC" & the screen shot is not applicable to for our mikroPascal.
In away Dave has hijacked this thread when he should started his own thread in the mikroC for PIC section.
Ken
Can you crowd get rid or strip of the MikroC stuff on this page as this is not relevant & how do we know it does happen in "C".we are announcing a release of new BETA version of mikroC PRO for PIC compiler

Re: Code Explorer and Routine List displays not everything
Hello Ken,
I think it is not fair to delete other users' answers that do not threaten the basic rules used in the forum.
In fact, this thread is slightly confusing because it was written about both mikroPascal PRO for AVR and mikroC PRO for PIC...
In any case, this thread is copied, and for all future visitors of this topic, let my answer be the road-map:
1) mikroPascal PRO for AVR users, click here: http://www.mikroe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=26010
2) mikroC PRO for PIC users, click here: http://www.mikroe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=26376
Once again, sorry for all the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Losic Tihomir
