Using ICD2 from uPascal

#1 Post by zotya » 07 Sep 2005 11:43

It would be nice to be able to use ICD2 directly from uPascal? It is possible?

Yes, that would be awesome for us too. However, Microchip still does not want to publish the ICD2 protocol. We wait for them.

Thanks!

I know, it is not easy to get detailed info about the ICD2. I tried it.
But I believed that you are in better position at Microchip than me. I failed.

Best regards,

The good news is that we are working on it...
... without any assistance from Microchip.

"It would be nice to be able to use ICD2 directly from uPascal?"

That wouldn't be nice at all, IMO.
Ever since Microchip made the default radix of their assembler
hexadecimal their development tools have gone downhill.
I found ICD2 quirky and unreliable.
If you look for an incircuit emulator look at the version from CCS:
http://www.ccsinfo.com/icds.shtml
I have had no problems with that one.
If you can come up with something similar, now that would be sweet!
