MikroC AI support for PI24?

#1 Post by steve42lawson » 07 Feb 2021 05:37

I apologize if this has already been covered -- my forum searches came up empty.

Am I missing something? I currently own licenses for MikroC PRO for PIC and dsPIC, and I'm wondering about his new "AI" offering [what is that? Artificial Intelligence?!?], but I paged through the Supported Devices and found NO PIC24s. I found PIC10/PIC12/PIC16/PIC18 but where's the PIC24? I also looked in the AI PIC32 list ['cuz based on past naming I thought maybe...] but no.

According to Necto's roadmap (https://www.mikroe.com/necto):

Near future Q1 2021

Necto Studio update with mikroSDK ARM (Kinetis, TIVA, MSP432) support
Necto Studio update with mikroSDK PIC32 support
Necto Studio update with mikroC AI for dsPIC support

Yup! I saw that. And, none of that has to do with PIC24. So, what's up with that?

[Unless, the same arcane naming "dsPIC" refers to PIC24?!? I mean, am I supposed to assume dsPIC refers to "dsPIC/PIC24"?!]

My mother taught me to NEVER assume!

Hello,

The compiler for dsPIC and PIC24 is one and the same:

Yeah, I know. That was my point. When searching for 24F support, I wondered if "dsPIC" still implied "24F" within the context of the topic of this post.

I'm researching the same issue. I couldn't find valid information on the forum. Can anyone help?

While exploring MikroC PRO for PIC and dsPIC, I came across their new "AI" feature, which intrigued me. However, after checking the Supported Devices list, I couldn't find any PIC24s listed, despite finding support for PIC10, PIC12, PIC16, and keto pendent PIC18. I also searched the AI PIC32 list, but to no avail.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

There is no Mikro AI for dsPIC is for both dsPIC and PIC24, if you make a setup in Necto Studio using Mikro AI for dsPIC you will be able to find both dsPIC and PIC24 MCUs.
