C Compiler and IDE for AVR

#1 Post by ALIBE » 06 Oct 2008 18:45

I read in the thread below that a C Compiler and IDE is in the making for AVR. What is the latest and is it available for beta testing and dogfooding.

Thank you

Hi,

as you can see on the topic you are referring to, I have posted some screen shots of the new compiler.
There will be a whole new section dedicated to mikroC for AVR.
In it there will be a Beta testing Section where you would be able to download a beta version to test.

Best Regards

i see the screen shots. But, my ?n is more toward when can we find this future section that's dedicated for mikroC for AVR. Just so I can understand the timing and start looking for beta for dogfooding.

Hi,

expected release time (beta version) of mikroC Pro for AVR (this will be the new working title)
is in two weeks. If there are no unforeseen problems in this time that is.
So it is really close now, we are really working our best to make a compiler that will be worthy
of a mikroElektronikas good name, and to amend the mistakes made in previous versions.

Best Regards

Hi,

the beta version of mikroC PRO for AVR has been released.
http://www.mikroe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17073

The versions of mikroPascal and mikroBasic PRO for AVR will be released soon. Now you have
a solid proof that we have been working on new compilers for AVR.
Additionally i would encourage all of our AVR oriented users to download and try our new AVR compiler, even if you prefer Pascal or Basic.
Any suggestion would help greatly.

Thanks

I have done it and downloaded the microC PRO Beta. I had only one hour or so to play with it but the new IDE looks really good. I will do some testing in the next days and hope that Pascal will follow soon.
