my goodness ! .... From eg one year i'm using AVR Assembler (AVRStudio), Bascom - and ocassionaly AVRGCC, because up to one week ago i'm hear about MikroPascal. I was wodered it's true ;) ... I want to purchase this compiler but ....
.... i'm reading this forum and i see it's terrible horror about support, bugs etc in AVR compilers, in MikroPascal too :(
so, OK ... my purchase is jet history, i would be using Bascom up to support for AVR compilers and compilers be ready for normal sale and not for testing on many frustrating customers like i see
good bye elektronika team, maybe i and more people comeback in one or some yeras

Hi,
release of mikroC for AVR is really close now.
Like said before :
- new IDE is done and implemented
- command line for new IDE, done and implemented
- complete revision of libraries an examples
Right now the compiler is in final polishing state.
Simultaneously we are porting all this work to mikroPascal and mikroBasic.
To give you some kind of preview i have posted some screen shots of new compilers (both mikroC and mikroPascal)

demo+full source code in C
Implement MENCHESTER CODING library
Implement SUPPORT FOR XRAM - external RAM !!!!!
+ add library info, seems use library any HW (timer,AD,pwm)
(
example:
Library PS2 - use Timer1

Thanks you very much.

Hi,
it will be released well before the end of the second 30 days.
here are some additional screen shots to keep you up to date:
New statistics window, and ability to export stats into html (major improvement)
The whole new and improved EEPROM editor
These are just some of the new and improved abilities that our new compiler for AVR has.

Lol,
nice cosmetics, but I'm pretty sure the majority of users had issues regarding the buggy compiler, missing or faulty routines, rudimentary libraries and weird documentations.
Ever heard about ORD, VAL or other common Pascal functions?
What about the string conversion library? You know it's not worth the name...
Next, it took me two weeks to write a functional ethernet library, cuz yours is restricted, intransparent, and ...did I tell already? ...buggy!
Meanwhile, most users are so frustrated, they would be glad just to get a functioning command line compiler.
So, if all we can expect is a bright shining stats page and other visual gimmicks, I dare to say...OH MY GOD...
By the way, how does anyone recall the license for the compiler purchased in a hardware bundle? I expected to get it on CD with the goods delivered... when I finally realized... stupid, this would be too easy... its mE :-)

Hi,
i think you need to read bit more carefully.
http://www.mikroe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9816
It says :
You are more then welcome to contribute, maybe not something related to C specifics, but there are
a lot of other things to test like new IDE, code folding, completely new statistics etc.
Right now we are finishing our work with mikroPascal PRO for AVR, and it will be released very soon.

... talking about release dates of a c-compiler in the pascal-forum is exactly what I would expect. And seeing a beta as a release - I mean, who can take those guys seriously ? Sorry, but I also waited for more than two years (paid but couldn't use it. Because debugging is no fun when you always have to suspect the compiler to be faulty).
Now I speak C. I use the GCC with the Atmel-AVRstudio. It was much easier to change languages than I would have thought and GCC is maintained by so many people - If there is a problem it gets solved - after all its a difficult task to do a compiler well... And there is plenty of support ;)
just my 0.02$
