MCP2518FD CLICK is not getting into "Normal CAN FD mode", "Configuration mode". It is always in "restricted operation"

#1 Post by Manoraj17 » 04 Nov 2021 17:09

I am currently using MCP2518FD CLICK with TI microcontroller TMS570LC4357 for external CAN FD using SPI interface.

As per specification MCP2518FD, When we write RESET instruction into MCP2518FD CLICK, it shall enter into "Configuration operation mode".
But it is not entering into "Configuration operation mode". It is always in "Restricted operation mode".

What could be the problem?
Why MCP2518FD CLICK is always in "Restricted operation mode".

Hi,

Please find the library and example source code in the attachment, to see how we accomplished this.

Regards,
Filip.

Dear support,

Thanks for sharing library.

I used MCP2518FD_Click-master-SW-New_SDK_library-library for implementation.

MCP2518FD_CONFIG_MODE, MCP2518FD_NORMAL_MODE modes are changing properly. but CAN Controller is neither transmitting nor receiving messages. What could be the problem for this?

if these modes are changing properly , then SPI connection is okay. right?

Do you have pin connection detail between microcontroller and MCP2518FD (information like which pin of microcontroller is connected to which pin of MCP2518FD)
