CODEGRIP for ARM to debug STM32 [solved]

#1 Post by frank.malik » 03 Aug 2022 14:03

Hello,

I have a Fusion for STM32 v8 and I'm trying to use an external CODEGRIP debugger via the J27 connector.
I know, there is a CODEGRIP already on the board and I know that I have to switch SW2 to use an external debugger.

Now I have the chance to use a CODEGRIP for ARM ( not for STM32 ). It's visible in the CODEGRIP suite, I have updated the firmware,
but I can't connect to the target MCU.

Question: is my understanding correct, that I can't use CODEGRIP for ARM with a STM32, but need something like CODEGRIP for STM32 or the UNI CODEGRIP?

Hi,

Can you please provide detailed photo of your HW setup ?
Which adapter cable did you use ?

Regards,
Filip.

Hello Filip,

just realized that the CODEGRIP has a non-standard 20pin 0.10" pin assignment. So, you can't use the standard adapters from
companies like Segger or Adafruit, which I have used in this case.

The pin assignment of the CODEGRIP 0.10" follows more the so called 19-pin 0.05" pin assignment.
Knowing this little detail, I can simply try with a few jumper wires to make the correct pin assignment.
Next time I will use the original Mikroe CODEGRIP adapter.

Let you know the result later.
Kind regards
Frank

Hello Filip,

this was the cause. It works now with external CODEGRIP for ARM, also connecting to the STM32.

Thanks for your support.
