When installed all Mikroe compilers were working OK
Now after some months these programs just say microC has stopped working
mikroC PRO for dsPIC
mikroC PRO for PIC
Installing the newest versions is no fix
These compilers still work OK
mikroC PRO for PIC32
mikroC PRO for ARM
Do you have an idea what the problem is.
No other programs on the PC have any problems
microC has stopped working .......

Hi,
that is very strange behavior, what OS are you using?
Try uninstalling compiler, then restart your PC, and then install the newest version, run the installation as admin.

Danilo

Hi
After my entire PC crashed in August
I had much hope that all the Mikroe compilers would work on a brand new desktop ASUS K20 AMD A10
All of them installed OK and worked. But a week later,
only the microC PRO for ARM works.
The PIC, PIC32 and dsPIC they all start with a splash screen and then they disappear without a trace
It is not possible to use them at all. Do you have a fix ?
Best regards

Re: microC has stopped working .......
Hi again
I have gone back to prevoius backups and found a backup where all the Mikroe compilers work!
This means that there is a program that removes the functionality of most Mikroe compilers
- but not all - The ARM C compiler works under all conditions.
I don't know yet what installation it is that destroys the Mikroe compilers
but I will tell if I can find it out
Or somebody else has an explanation ?
Best regards
BenOve

Hello
You obviously have something that ruins the installations. I am afraid that some other software might not work on your computer too, since it's possibly affected with a virus. Other than that, I could assume that you might have a bad cluster on your drive... Bad clusters won't reproduce the issue if you reinstall the software in another location, or even better - you can try installing the software on another drive (if you have one) Other than a virus or a file corruption - there should absolutely be nothing that could prevent only mE software to work... Having a working backup seems to me like a virus, to be honest...
There are other sources of such behavior, like a bad RAM (but that needs to be investigated, since it won't be restricted to only one type of software), bad drivers for some device you have in your system...
Does it happen with no programmer or system connected to your computer ?
Does it happen if you install your mE compilers on the default install location / some other drive ?
Did you try to run some AV software ? (I wouldn't want to advertise anything, check around for a reliable AV software)
Post your "Device control panel" screenshot, so I can see if something suspicious is attached or not installed properly.
Finally scan your hard drive for a file system corruptions - take a look at this LINK
Looking forward to your answer,
Best regards
