PIC32MZ USB Question

#1 Post by Frankxo » 17 Oct 2022 10:33

Hello,

I'm working on a USB project and have some questions.

I've played with USB devices in the past that act like virtual com ports. One device, in particular, communicates with the PC no matter which COM port baud rate is selected. I want my device to have this same feature (so the user doesn't have to worry about baud rate).

I started my prototype with a USB to UART bridge, and don't think I can get the desired feature to work that way.

Now, I'm looking at using the built in USB peripheral on the PIC32MZ. If I develop my PIC32 USB to be a CDC, will my desired feature work?

Hopefully this makes sense. I'm no USB expert, so please forgive me for my ignorance.

Thank you in advance.
