PIC 18f26j50 usb cdc connection problem with Windows 10

Hi,
I recently had to fit a new SSD to my PC with the latest Windows 10. When I plug in my pic18f26j50 board via the USB the com port initialisation is very flaky. It only works about 20% of the time. I have installed the VCPDriver (after disabling MS signature block).
The board works fine with an older computer and also with laptop with older Windows 10.
Any help would be appreciated.
