Advanced SPI ethernet library

#1 Post by honkerbob » 21 Sep 2009 19:37

I am currently experimenting with the serial ethernet board and using the advanced SPI ethernet library.

I am sending UDP packets to the ethernet board and it all works fine, after the board has been pinged. The board will not work correctly until it has been pinged at least once. I know that this has been flagged as a 'quirk'. I was wondering if the issue had been addressed yet.

Many thanks, best regards.

Hi,
You are right after the initial ping request the library functions and the example are operational. This is just the way this library works. We are aware of all imperfections of this approach, but until a major revision of the ethernet library, you'll have to do things this way.
Thank you for your support, and let me assure you that we will correct this in some future library revisions.

Best regards,
