Mikroe NFC Click Module

I'm unable to find any detailed specs, or any examples of how people have actually used these. I'd like to use it with an esp8266 or an esp32 in an ideal world, although I could use it with a Raspberry Pi if I have to, but that's not ideal (and I know that's off topic). My end game is to get it integrated into Home Assistant as a door control mechanism, but that's a long way off... Any advice would be amazing!

Here you can find the complete source code and documentation for NFC Click board.
Also, I suggest you read this article.

You may want to consider using our WiFi ESP click board which carries the ESP-WROOM-02 module that integrates ESP8266EX.
