programming problem
Hi mikroe,
This is my first use of mikroprog and I am having problem during programming using mikroprog, when i click write, the warning dialog box appears, the device detected is different from the device i have selected, how does it happens?
Then if i continue, the programming was failed. Also the VPP was i think too high, see on pictures attached.
Please help me doing this,
Thank you mikroe,

Re: programming problem
Hi,
Where are you connecting the mikroProg to ?
Is ti some custom experimental board ?
Could you please attach here detailed photos and its schematic ?
Regards,
Filip.

Re: programming problem
Hi,
I'm just followed the basic connection for PIC DIP40 on mikroprog manual and i'm surely right.
And this another very strange happened when i tried to click "write" without inserting the mikroprog to the target device, the warning dialog appears again and shows the same, the detected device is different to the device i have selected. I'm wondering why it detect device though it is not connected to the targert device? Is this happening normally if you click write without connecting the device?

Re: programming problem
Hi,
Please, this is not a complete schematic, I will need also the values of the components in the circuit.
So, when the mikroProg is not attached to any circuit, and you press write the same message appears ?
Regards,
Filip.

Re: programming problem
Ok i will post actual photo and results.
Yes filip, still same message appears. Always PIC12F508 is the device detected though it is not connected to any circuit.
Then if i continue, the progress bar for programming is running. Very strange, programming runs without connecting to the target device? Can i post video of it so you can watch?
I also upgraded the firmware and followed the steps, but then after i tried still the same message appears.
Helmut, i do not use any external power.. The component value is 100nF for capacitor and 1k ohms for resistor same as requirements for PIC DIP40 programming connections.

Re: programming problem
leave at all,
i think you should use a JDm progrmer dear

i have also faced a lot of problems, but now it is fine and i am using JDm programer with the software winpicrjmendoza1987,
Re: programming problem
Did you understand?
If you have no ex. Power you must enable the power from Mikroe-Programmer.
Best regards
Helmut

Re: programming problem
Of course i understand helmut, i also made that but still same error appears.
I am also currently using my PICKit2 but i have no problem with it, then i bought mikroprog for its nice features but I've encountered such problem like that. That's why i'm asking on this forum for a technical support. I don't want my money to be wasted after all.

Re: programming problem
Hi,
Ok, the detection of the 12F508 is quite normal.
Please, use a connection as on the picture below, this is an appropriate way of connecting the mikroProg to the 16F887.
I'm sure that it will work in this way.
Regards,
Filip.

Re: programming problem
Hi mikroe,
I followed your last post. The result, i scrapped 3 pcs of PIC16f887. It doesn't work after trying.
I'm sure i am right on my connections just like what you suggest.
My mikroprog became useless having problem like that. I have finished my project using pickit and not my mikroprog. Maybe the mikroprog i have bought has already a manufacturer defect before i buy since it showing an abnormalities like that.
Programming is running without connecting the device?? very weird
Thank you..

Hi,
Did you try to program any other chip ?
