mikroprog firmware update failure

Hello,

I have just received my mikroProg and tried to update the firmware.
I installed drivers with Administrator rights and I used mikroProg Suite for PIC v2.8 (also installed with Administrator rights).
During firmware update, I got the following error: "Error in call to Device driver..." as shown in image "error.png" though the progress bar still completed to 100%.

After that, when mikroProg Suite is launched, I get a warning saying: "Connected development tool is not supported in mikroProg Suite for PIC" (as shown in image "warning.png") and also an access violation error ("acces_violation.png"). It then seems that the mikroProg firmware is empty.

I have tried reflashing it using the "FrmFlashmProg.exe", both on my computer and 2 other computers but to no avail.

Is there anything I can do to recover from that "Empty" mikroProg ?

Hi,

It seems that firmware patcher for empty mikroprog works flawlessly on the Windows 7, but sometimes it can generate some errors on Windows 10.
The solution is to run the file in Compatibility mode for Windows 7.
Unpack the file from the archive, Right click and choose properties.
Go to the Compatibility tab and choose Run this program in compatibility mode for : Windows 7.
If it doesn't work for the first time, try running it several times.

i hope your below post also helps me, even i am facing the same problem, of empty MikrpProg, i downloaded the zip file and tried to repeat the process many times as you said, i also changed the version to Windows 7, (for your knowledge i am using windows 8.1, do you think i should still change the version to windows 7 or can try with windows 8.1)
