I wish...

#1 Post by kiiid » 05 Jan 2012 06:29

First things first. :D
This is my very first post in this forum. Congratulations to mE for the newly released compilers!

I have only one wish: mikroPascal for NXP's LPC1768. I am one of the handful in the world unlucky people that have to fiddle with it (even against my will, which has always been supporting PIC!). So I am ready to dip into my pocket immediately if that micro was supported by mPascal (or mC, or even mBasic!)

Do you have any plans for the foreseeable future towards expanding the support to include more families apart from Stellaris?

Hi,

While waiting for ME to have LPC17xx series in their ARM Compilers AND if your pocket it not that deep..... (sorry, if you are otherwise)

Maybe you can look at www.coocox.org/

Open source and quite OK (from china university)

Not that bad and support is excellent like ME.

Hi,

Yes, we have in our plans to support the NXP MCUs.
They should be implemented in some of the future versions of the compiler.

Regards,
Filip.

Why not LPCXpresso (C only) from NXP? It is free, works well and supports all of the NXP Cortex-M0/3/4 (and some ARM7/9) devices. Plus a development board with built-in JTAG programmer/debugger (LPC-Link) is only $29. :) :) :)
Why pay for overpriced toys when you can have
professional grade tools for FREE!!! :D :D :D

Simply because neither CooCox or LPCxpresso are Pascal compilers (and I don't like much the C) :)

Try our Astrobe development system - it allows you to program the NXP LPC13xx/LPC17xx Cortex-M3 microcontrollers using Wirth's Oberon 2011 language (Pascal's 'grandson'):

How soon? 2 years passed and no LPCxxxx added. I demand NXP chip support in mP for ARM!

Hi,

Indeed adding support for NXP MCUs is for some time on our wish list.
We understand that adding support for NXP MCUs would be useful to some of our users and our software developers and management team will certainly consider it, but unfortunately, at this moment I am not able to give you any promise regarding time.

Thank you very much for you understanding.

Best regards,
Marina
