PIC32MX795F512H osc problem

#1 Post by azah » 15 May 2020 09:20

Hi!

I have a problem with my custom build PIC32MX795F512H .
I am trying the LED BLINK -as always- code and everything is working right (with correct timining , delay etc)
The weird thing is that if I try ti increase MCU Clock frequency more than 68Mhz code is not working

More specific with 68Mhz (8Mhz external crystal , PLL div X2 ,PLL mul X17) everything is working as it should.

changing to 72Mhz or 80Mhz (with according PLL mul x18 or x20) nothing is working !

Hi,

We use PIC32MX795F512L on 80MHz on regular basis here.

Since the PIC32MX795F512H and PIC32MX795F512L share the same datasheet/characteristics I think this could be a hardware issue, please check your connections and the oscillator circuit.

Here is how we did it with PIC32MX795F512L :
