VTFT and colour resolution for FT812 controller

Hi,

I have tried to use a Riverdi 7-inch display (no touch panel) model RVT50AQFFWN00 with Visual TFT. So I had to set the display paramters for a a resolution of 800 x 480 according to the display datasheet. However
there seems to be some inconsistency between the allowed VTFT project options and the FT812 / RIverdi RVT50AQFFWN00 datasheets. The VTFT options only allow RGB 6-bit resolution which is correct for the FT800 controller but the FT812 and RVT50AQFFWN00 datasheets show that maximum RGB resolution is 8 bits per colour (i.e. 24-bit RGB) with R7..R0, G7..G0 and B7..B0 also used in the Riverdi display while for 6-bit colour resolution (i.e. 18-bit RGB) should be R7..R2, G7..G2 and B7..B2. Does anybody of you have an explanation for this ? Thanks in advance.

Please try the project from the attachment and see if it works for you (adjust the connections according to your development board).
