As the first of the PIC24s are in production, a nice feature for the dsPIC compilers (maybe they should be renamed to dsPIC and PIC24 compilers) would be def files for the PIC24s. Also, some sort of error message if you try to use DSP libraries or any other DSP engine functions if a PIC24 is selected. It's not too early to be integrating the PIC24 (at least the few currently in production) into the dsPIC compilers.

There was another thread on that. They're planning on producing a couple of new boards. In the mean time, we can develop apps on the dsPIC30F6014. It would be nice to have the def files, though, just to get a head start on the coding for the new targets.
Yeah, yeah....I know.....it's going to be many months before we're actually going to be able to test this on an actual target.
I'd be curious if the ICD2 port on the dsPIC PRO will work with these, though. It may be possible to use the present dsPIC PRO board with some sort of SMD protoboard.
