USB, USB OTG with the 24FJ

#1 Post by extrapilot » 15 Jun 2008 01:16

Hello

Having native USB support libraries for the 24FJ for USB would be fantastic. While the 2550/4550 series works fine, they have pretty significant memory limitations relative to these 24FJ parts, and are more costly. Plus, they tend to have really ugly multiplexing problems (i.e. sharing SPI and USART pins). The 24FJ is the answer to a bunch of design heacaches- assuming the silicon works ;) The OTG functionality is interesting also, but for me, just having USB client capabilities would be a huge benefit.

Regards,
Rob

That post was intended for the dsPic Basic forum, but I believe the library functionalities/limites are the same between compilers for the 24/dsPic...

yep- so I put it on the wishlist. Perhaps if there are enough of us who would like to have that functionality, it will move up on the dev list.

Best,
