Alternate parity and stop bits for UARTs

#1 Post by jgilkey » 31 Mar 2005 00:10

It would be nice to be able to change the parity and number of stop bits for the UART ports. For example, I need to talk to a device at 9600 baud, 8E2 for parity and stop bits.

Will be considered/implemented.

For both PIC and dsPIC, the manual for the library function should state clearly what the byte structure is; i.e. 8 data bits, 1 stop, no parity (if that is correct), or whatever it is. Being able to adjust this would be nice, but knowing what it is is essential. :?
If you know what you're doing, you're not learning anything.
