Mikrobasic pro and chips

#1 Post by twenty » 23 Oct 2010 06:56

Hi,

I have to say the Visual GLCD software looks pretty impressive. I'm trying it out for the first time but have a few questions to ask and would appreciate if someone out there can help with some advice.

Visual GLCD only allows selection of either Atmega16 or Atmega128 when the "Mikrobasic Pro for AVR" is selected. Would other chips be supported in the future?

Not sure whether this is possible but I think a drop down box selection approach for the "GLCD Module connections" in the SETTINGS window would make it even quicker to setup.

Is it possible to change the "Font Width" and "Font Height" settings when the "Hardware Patterns" is set to "Customs"? Can a different font be generated by merely setting these two parameters eg. "Font width"=8, "Font Height"=16?

Thanks in advance

All MCUs are supported. Visual Glcd reads the compiler's Defs folder and populates the MCU list.
So probably your folder {INSTALL}/MikroBasic PRO for AVR/Defs is corrupted.
On my PC everything is OK, see the picture below:

We considered that option already :) To do this we need to have the detailed pin description in out mlk files for each MCU and for all architectures. Unfortunately we can't support this in this moment, maybe in the future.

No, custom fonts can be added, but it is not that simple :)
Help -> Managing Projects -> Set Font, see the last two sentences.

I'm having the same problem, from the menu in Visual GLCD I can only select the following Target Devices: P18F4520,P18f8520,P18f8527,P18F8722 and P18F87J60. I have unistalled and reinstall my Visual GLCD and MikroPascal Pro for PIC. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Both programs are installed on my E drive top level, also I'm running windows 7 64bit.

Hi,

I don't know what it could be. Please send me some project (zipped folder) from your PC
together with Visual GLCD and MikroPascal Pro for PIC installation paths to milan[at]mikroe.com

So I installed a fresh copy of MikroPascal PRO for PIC v4.15 and Visual GLCD 1.5 on my wife's computer, which also is running Windows 7 64 bit. I installed the programs in the default locations on the C drive. After starting a new project and the settings window comes up I'm still have the same problem, I can only select between 5 devices. I also tried this on my laptop, same issue, my laptop is also running Windows 7 64 bit.

Hi,

we reproduced the situation and we are working on the solution right now.
Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Solution will be included in the next version of Visual GLCD :
We are adding code generation for SPI_Glcd and SPI_T6963C library - and new version should be released very very soon.

I have downloaded version 2.5 and it appears that only atmega16 and atmega128 are supported for the AVR series. Not even xmega is supported. It would be great to have atmega32, atmega64 and xmegas also supported.

Hi,

All MCUs present in the compiler are selectable in the Visual GLCD.
Please, can you attach a screenshot of this ?
Which operating system are you using ?

Regards,
Filip.
