mikroPascal for dsPIC30/33 and PIC24 General

Hi,
I'm new in PIC world. I need to start a project that use a PIC that use 2 device via UART (or RS232) plus a GLCD (with touch screen) and a memory card. Do you think that a PIC24 is a good micro for all this device ? Do you think that this starter kit is a good board for this project ?
