Amazing ...
Due to restrictions from the manufacturer,
Mouser is not authorized to market mikroElektronika product in your region.
Seems that Lextronic killed the mouse in France :mrgreen:

Anyway, Congrat to mikroE, this is a great news for a lot of developers.

Dear Octal,

Mouser is a great reinforcement to the community, a solution for part of our customers that otherwise had trouble reaching to our products.
France still has Lextronic as the official mikroElektronika distributor.

Mouser is a great addition for mE. I will buy from them as long as they don't hike the prices up.

I ordered my Easypic 6 direct from MikroElectronica last week and had no problems with the service at all. In fact it was perfect. The delivery service from DHL was also awesome. Less than 22 hours and the board arrived at my door.

Thanks again mE for great service and a great product.

I know them, they're my preferred supplier for... everything I don't buy at ME :-)

Great :wink:

Octal: I bought at lextronic ONE TIME, but never after... :lol:

In addition let it be clear: buying directely at ME, even with DHL fixed high costs for shipping, has meaning:

- Money goes directely in ME pocket, this is much more fair;

- Prices in USD are interresting even with fees;

The age of closed commercial areas is over.

Hi astram,
I agree with you, but some gov organizations (schools, univ, educ centers, ...) can't buy from a non french reseller (for historical admin reasons) ;)

For those, it's mandatatory to buy from Lextronic.
Also I like to buy from Lextronic, because for some expensive stuff (>600 euros), he accepts to be paid in 3x or 4x times (without interrests) ;)

Having a local reseller is always a good thing. You can go to its shop, check the boards, compare, see quality of soldering (fab in general), ...

Hello twhoney,

For the reasons of our good cooperation with TIGAL and Lextronic over many years back,
we have decided to make them official distributors for their home countries (and Germany and Switzerland for TIGAL) at this point.

TIGAL has most of our products in stock, and in good quantities, company delivers quickly and your shipping costs will be lesser if you are from a neighboring country.
Also, octal stated several very good reasons why it's better to purchase from a local reseller if available.

I purchase from Mouser all the time! When I saw they had the MMC/SD board I added it to my latest order. Now I know right where to go to get those great ME accessory boards.

Very good news for those of us in the US. My company throws fits every time I add in another vendor so I place my ME orders on my own card and submit a voucher to get paid back. Now I can just order through our purchasing department and be done.

Definitely will save shipping cost in the US, although I noticed that their prices are slightly higher on some items than mE direct. Also, as I understand it, to get the discount on compilers, you can't buy the development boards from distributors such as Mouser, which can be a real rude awakening if you were expecting to be able to.

This deal is our initiative to help the community by giving away part of our profit. You can't easily get such deals from distributors. MikroElektronika will continue to provide such discounts on compilers in the future, so if you want you can purchase the bundle directly from us, and for $25.00 shipping fee, you will get your fast DHL delivery in 2-4 business days.

That's ok, all I'm saying is that it would be a good idea to state this clearly on the compiler pages, so someone doesn't naively buy a development board from a distributor, expecting to get the discount. I almost did that, but I asked the question. A reasonable person would assume that the discount applies even if the board is purchased through a distributor. Here is the only thing on the PIC compiler page:
Who applies for discount?
If you own any of our development system you are entitled to discount prices of compilers

It doesn't say anything about whom you buy it from, just that you "own" it. Maybe you need to change that paragraph on all of the compiler pages.
