LDC click, featuring world's first inductance-to-digital converter

Inductive sensing is contactless, magnet-free, reliable in
tough conditions; it can use any conducting material as its
target— a groundbreaking technology with huge potential in
embedded design. It's now available to you, with LDC1000
click

It's been less than a year since Texas Instruments' PR people
announced the release of LDC1000 and the IC already garnered a
slew of awards: EDN2013 HOT100, Hearst Electronic
Products 2013 product of the year
award, ACE AWARDS
2014 Ultimate Products winner
, and many more...

And now, with LDC1000 click, you too can discover what
it's all about.

Inductive sensing can be used to measure position, motion,
or shape of a metal or any other conductive target... to
detect the compression, extension, torque and twist of a
spring… more than that, it can be employed in push-button
switches, game controllers... or you can use it to find
defects in material composition... it supports pressed foil or
conductive ink targets.. the applications are huge.

In short range applications, the LDC1000 has a sub-micron
resolution
.

The high precision of the sensor isn't impeded by harsh
conditions like dirt, dust, oil or moisture
.

The click board itself features a detachable PCB sensor
(an LC tank comprising a 36-turn PCB coil and a 100pF 1% NPO
capacitor). You can try out your own sensors by soldering them
to the on-board INA and INB pins (it doesn't have to be a coil
on a PCB, it can be made from a wire, or even a simple
spring, all low-cost solutions).

LDC1000 click can be used in designing solutions for
industrial, automotive, mobile device -- make your own market…
because really, the applications are limited only by your
imagination.

Details on the product page, Libstock examples are
also ready.

Yours sincerely,
