This new click board can cause a revolution
We have a new click board that can cause a revolution. Many revolutions. More of a spinning motion in fact.
It's the DC MOTOR click™, a simple solution for adding a DC motor driver to your design.
DC MOTOR click™ features the DRV8833RTY H-Bridge motor driver, and a 74HC4053 multiplexer that allows you
to run the motor with only one PWM line from the mikroBUS™ socket. The board is designed to use either a
3.3V or 5V power supply, which can be provided either from the mikroBUS™ socket or externally through CN2 terminals.
It's limited to a 0.9A driving current with a 0.22Ω current sense resistor.
It also has two LEDs, a green power indicator, and a red one that signals an active nFault line (in case of a short-circuit).
So that's 72 click boards for now, but rest assured, more are on the way.
Yours sincerely,
MikroElektronika

Re: This new click board can cause a revolution
Again a new Click board released and only ARM compiler examples
Time that mikroE start to be honest with your customers and say openly that in future all new boards will have
only ARM examples .
just decided not to buy the click board ,because of you bias support

Good to see that mE has seen the light and not just focussing on outdated and overpriced technology. Keep up the good work and don't look back!!!

When you can get 32bit cortex-m0 chips at 0.30ct, why continue using overpriced 8bits unless you are dip-oohoolic ... :p

Re: This new click board can cause a revolution
Getting tired of everybody but mikroelektronika saying what they are or are not doing.
How about keeping that stuff to yourselfs please?
Now a direct question: Is there plans for mE to develop PIC examples for this new Click Board?

Re: This new click board can cause a revolution
From what I see this motor board is only controled by a PWM. It should be very simple to drive it with any chip/language/compilator. I think mE did not want to start a real "revolution" .

I hope it will end soon.
Lots of respect for all your efforts Robert

Hi rmteo,
No, opinions are just that, opinions and openly free to express by everyone.
I have a problem with postings that seem to imply what mE is doing or not doing like that person works for the company, when in fact they do not, and have no right to state the company's intent on any matter.
I feel these cause confusion and ungrounded rumors that help no one other that the person posting it a chance to vent .
In a technical environment, facts are important for decisions to be made on, not statements as representative intent of speculations (or wishes ).
posting of a persons issue or praise with an actual action done by mE is one thing, posting a statement that an action by mE means (by interpretation), a set-in-stone policy of mE's is not a fact unless they (mE) post it.
I'm just asking for the speculations and praise to be kept as that, opinions expressed as opinions only.
(Am I and everyone to believe that a posting of PIC abandonment and Arm'ed (hostel? ) take over of MikroElektronika has in fact ensued and all PIC enthusiast Abandon-Ship when the Captain has not said so ?)
I would like to hear from mE that the hardworking and over worked founding PIC programmers have finally gotten an overdue (short ) Holiday and the still fresh Arm software developers made progress in their work to shrink the jobs list they have, personally.
Regards, Robert.

Re: This new click board can cause a revolution
Why should any of this be a problem at all? If the author of the post is not a representative of mE, then anything said cannot and should not be construed as official mE policy/action. Simple as that. And if you don't like what is being said, you can ignore these posts. No one is forcing you to read them.

Hi,
http://www.libstock.com/projects/view/9 ... lick-board
To all of our valued customers, we have not forgot about PIC or other non-ARM users, and in no way we are favoring any particular architecture,
we wish to publish our new products as soon as possible, therefore we offered code for the ARM, its better to have one code than no code at all, there is no big secret or mystery here.
As I have said, we have added PIC examples for the ones that prefer Microchip, so enjoy it.
Regards,
Filip.
Now a direct answer - we have added the examples, please have a look :Now a direct question: Is there plans for mE to develop PIC examples for this new Click Board?

Hi Filip,
Thank you for the "direct" answer and the release of the PIC examples.
Got them and will look them over.
Best regards, Robert.
