PLEASE REPLY! need customers feedback about reliability of Mikroe

#1 Post by netserv » 18 Feb 2022 22:56

Hi!
I would like to get customer feedback about experience of stability of Mikroe products. Since 10 Years I saw a lot of strange things. A lot of times I could not continue my development because the compiler or the programmer and/or debugger striked.

I would like to get feedback from you how those products work with you.
Mikroe is not really interested in reproducing errors that I sent...

Sometimes I tink I am mad, but I have 40 Years professional experience in development.

Thanks a lot for your response.
I do not think I am mad, I rather thing the products are rubbish.

Hi,
Mikroe is not really interested in reproducing errors that I sent...
I have answered you on every ticket you opened on HelpDesk asking for further clarifications on the reproducibility of the issues you reported, but I didn't get answer.
We are willing to test everything that we can at our side.

Regards,
Filip.

strange things every day....

I will post from now everything i see. Please understand, I have not time to communicate, because I need my time to handle you buggy rubbish.
Professional work is almost impossible with these tools. I am glad to have alteratives from Mictochip....
Do you think this is professional???
I wonder how other customers work with this...

Please attach your project that reproduces this issue.

Again you didn't attach anything relevant to the problem reproducibility, therefore I cannot try this.

Please attach relevant schematics, step by step guide how to reproduce this, software version.

Regards,
Filip.

Thats the problem. Things happen one day and then dey do not. Very unstable.
I sent you some of those projects before.

And thats new here, just seen this when starting the programmer suite:

There is no end of bugs...
See the video, what programmer does. Is reproduceable.

another day, another bug...

This comes after loading a project and the attempt to compile. The message does not say anything. What to do?

another day. another bug....

(Piccompiler for18F2550)

this does NOT produce an error when compiling, so you will search a long time to find out why the program does not work any more:

should show an error-> PrintOut("%i / %s\r\n",(unsigned int)i, byteToBinary(outarray));
correct -> PrintOut(PrintHandler, "%i / %s\r\n",(unsigned int)i, byteToBinary(outarray));

Found similar behaviour with variables, let you know.

stay tuned, more is coming soon ;-)

same day, another bug....
What is wrong in LINE 15 ???

see the screenshot. Project has been appended.
It is not possible to simplify the project, because those errors only appear in more complex projects. (my experience over years...)

This code has been compiled multiple times without problems.
As metioned, there are sometimes minor changes and nothing works...

The preprocessor error is rubbish. There is no #ifdef.

BUT: if you remove "#define DEBUG on top or set it under comment, it works. Strange...

another (s/h/i/t) day, another (b/u/l/l/s/h/i/t) bug.....
It is really boring and confusing and costs me productivity.
All ist very unstable, not professional. Would be glad if you begin to debug all this.

I bought a second programmer because at least one produces allways sometimes errors. Hoping that at least one works.

Now: I worked yesterday eveneing and programmed compiled and it was quite okay.
Today morning, programmer reports a permanent error that this tool is not supported. Okay change the programmer (i have it redundant what is necessary with your products) and it works.

I am sure, the other programmer will work perhaps in the afternoon or tomorrow again.

Thats what the Porgrammer Suite reports immediately after start:

follow up.......
next bug:

this does NOT WORK:
outarray=outarray&(~pattern);

example:
if outarray=00000111 and pattern is 00000001 the result is 0!

workaround using another variable:
out=outarray;
out2=out¬pattern;
outarray=out2;

i do not want to know what else is buggy in this stuff....

Sorry but there is again a bug in the PIC Pro compiler. Yes it's true. I hope you are working on all the other bugs I reported. I hope.

Now this is simple and reproducable. In many cases the compiler does NOT report errors from code lines. Also here:
if(USBIF==1)
{
USB_Interrupt_Proc();
LED_YELLOW=1;
}

This does not work, program does not work anyway.
correct is using the bit like: USBIF_bit

Terrible to work when I have to find out YOUR bugs.....
So please respond and debug the compiler ASAP !!

next bug.....

reading a port by bit does NOT WORK!

if(portc.f0==0)
{LED_YELLOW=1;}

no chance it does not work-

this works;
if((portc&0b00000100)==0)
{
LED_YELLOW=1;
}

WHY ?????????
