Is ther likely to be a way of using this compiler with MPlab & ICD2 for debugging in the reasonably near future
I can't find a way to use source code debugging in tht MicroC IDE

Mplab
I agree with this wish to be able to use my ICD2 programer via MPLAB or a version of the MikroC that can directly talk to the ICD2 programer via RS232.
Re: Mplab
Currently, we are addressing this issue in two ways:
- 1. We're negotiating with Microchip about using the ICD2 technology. This is going much slower than expected and the final outcome is hard to predict;
2. We're trying to connect (integrate) parts of mikroXX compiler(s) with MPLAB. The only reason we're doing this is to have access to ICD. This work is still in early phase, and results are not to be expected until late autumn;

ICD2
Have had success by opening a new project in MPLAB and selecting the target chip. Connecting to ICD2 under debug menu. Then under file/import picking up the MikroC hex file. Mplab gets both the hex file and the COD file. Finally down load the program to the chip via ICD2.
Re: Mplab
Hi,
Any new regarding using the ICD2 with mikro C, or using the mikroC with MPLAB ???

Nothing new yet, but there might be some positive or negative news soon.wael_sal wrote:Any new regarding using the ICD2 with mikro C, or using the mikroC with MPLAB ???

Hope good news, for you and us, I mean :Dzristic wrote:Nothing new yet, but there might be some positive or negative news soon.
Anyway, I hope integration in MPLAB could be done. i consider it a plus of a third-party Microchip compiler. I've been working since 2001 with at least 3 non-Microchip C compiler and two of them (CCS and BoostC) have the integration. Hope obstacles could be down soon.

Re: Mplab
The problem is in negotiating with Microchip. The implementation is easy.
We will do it sooner or later. You will be informed when the exact information is known.

MPLAB ICD2/3 implementation yet?
hi,
any new news on integrating MPLAB ICD2 or 3 in microC?
i see last post was in jan 09.
thank you,

The incoming release of mE compilers for PIC supports generation of COFF files. This means that you will be able to import mC/mB/mP project into MPLAB and to use ICD2 for debugging.
Beta versions are expected this week.
