8x8 or 8x16 LED matrix

HI i have been trying to make LED matrix on 8051 but i cant when i do research all projects of led matrix are made on PIC but i dont know PIC pls help me .. i made Scrolling columns but i cant scroll rows maybe if i make rows it will be helpfull to complete my project all help and avise me

Hi!.
i have already done this thing, can you tell me which ICs you are using with PIC for driving led matrix?
