GSM cellular module working with PIC

#1 Post by Thunder » 20 Oct 2007 21:46

Hi,

I am looking for a board controller working with a Microchip PIC and a GSM cellular Module where I can write my applications?
I will prefer a board that works with Mikroelektronika compiler.

Thanks.

Hello Thunder,

I was looking myself for a board like that 3 weeks ago, I have search the internet and found a company that has a GSM/GPRS Controller with a PIC18F6722 on board. Your can write your own application and they have all the software driver to start working immediately. I bought one myself, and programmed a small procedure that sends and receives SMS messages in just minutes as they say.

The nicest think is that they use the Mikroelektronika compiler as their software editor.

Hope I helped you...

Opss.. almost fogot, their website is:

www.u-controls.com

Thunder,

There are allots of GSM controller, do a search in Google and you will find what you are looking for.

Anyway, I worked with two GSM controllers from 2 companies. One is Biene Electronics, they have a GSM controller where you can set the outputs and inputs by SMS messages.

The second company is UControl Solutions where you write your own application.

I founded that UControl's controllers are much easier to work, with all the driver build in. I am a software engineer and I don't want to be involved with the electronics so their controller is perfect.

Take Care

Hi,

I have Ucontrol Pix-Cell GSM controller. I am not sure how to create the Pix-Cell functions library in MikroC PRO PIC compiler software.

Can someone please advise me?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello,

As I see, this board has Telit GE864 module and you can communicate with it through UART using AT commands:

Best regards.
