IDE hang

#1 Post by richcj10 » 10 Sep 2012 00:40

Today I found a new feature:

The IDE has figured out a way of hanging at irregular intervals making me stop what I am doing to prevent a full crash of the software. The OS(Win 7) states it goes unresponsive. If I leave it alown for a minute it allows me to resume. If I muck with it at all, it crashes. I tried a new install and it didn't work, same problem. This is killing my productivity and I need this fixed soon. Any Ideas? This shouldn't be a code issue...

Hello,

Please can you explain in more details this issue.

We are using our compilers on Win7, and so are many of our users. But I have not encountered this behavior before.
Please can you tell me at which point this happens. Does this happen when you press compile or it can occur at any moment?

Also if you can test it on another Win7 system.

And finally you can try to reinstall compiler as administrator on your computer and with UAC turned off.

Best regards.

It would hangs when I am typing in code mainly. I did a re-install, no help.
Computer spec:
AMD 3+ 4100 3.2Ghz
GTX 285 OC
Hardware is not an issue.
The other Win 7 computer I have (laptop) the program (not IDE) application has a problem with and crashes/hangs while programming at different times.

Hello,

We definitely were not able to reproduce this behavior on our side.
You also said that you sometimes the compiler crashes. If this happen please send us bug report.
This will help us to get clear image of what could cause this behavior.

Also some protection applications like antivirus could block your IDE.
If you can try to run it with antivirus turned off. Just to see if this behavior will occur.

Best regards.
