Can i generate a Synthesizer circuit with Oscillator?

I have been working on several projects using Raspberry Pi recently, but those are now completed.
And I am ready for my next project, but want to build a circuit.
I have a small amount of experience with Micro-Controllers like Arduino and even made a few projects with PicAxe years ago.
I know a little about python and C black.

I own an old Synthesizer which is from my grandpa and the circuit came out with a problem that the voice system can not get a signal so that it keep quiet.
I researched some resources of Oscillator circuits but I am not sure if it is suitable for the Synthesizer?
Thanks for any input and suggestions/direction on getting started.
