Question - USB HID Bootloader on P24EP512GU810

Hi,

I have a working bootloader for this device using the template supplied in the following thread. There is one small problem - the usb connection only holds up for around one second and then disconnects. If you are fast and hit the "Connect" button as soon as the "USB link" icon illuminates you can get it to connect. Can someone advise how to extend the available connection time?
