ahh,,,yeah,,,like shoot first,,ask later!
mixing 3v/5v,,,use caution or buy more parts.
i would build in protection first, prevent screw ups later

Re: New EP6 fails programming about 20% of the time
the above screen shot gives me chills as i saw it so often, in between perfect operations.
the numbers were never the same when tried seconds apart,,,moving only the mouse.
i am only stating facts, to help.

Re: How to make EasyBee3 work on EasyPic5 ??
last, first? the last question should be FIRST! do we assume 3v parts can be burned with 5v?? if so , a wrong jumper could be the problem. i suppose this is the case since a jumper is provided. this is another case where a resistor and a zener can prevent burned up parts. very cheap insurance. tom

Re: EasyPIC6 board not recognized by PC after 24V apply toPO
@ Memphis, lets look at one pin on your pic driving an outside circuit the data sheet shows ,for most pins, 2 diodes in series from ground to +5v. the diodes "point up", anode at gnd, cathode to +5, the pin in the middle, in normal use they do nothing. if a negative vote shows up it is pulled to gnd,...

Re: EasyPIC6 board not recognized by PC after 24V apply toPO
this is another case for some simple protection. granted it must not happen often. but ME did add some resistors to this board in a-d and +/- switching to prevent burnout of pots etc. the much more important programmer could be protected with a few res. and zeners. in fact MUCH MORE IMPT since they ...

i dont know that board but if you look close at board book you should see where those pins are connected
probably a number of functions. check jumpers, etc
we see this on ezp5 board

as pro came out, and new versions, as a weak hobby programmer, i never bothered to upgrade. i did not think i could cope with the problems, and learn with no teaching aids. there is really no basic teaching tool that i see as detailed, like the old cbm64 programming guide, etc. windows??,i bought a v...

Re: Stepper Motor Problem
anyone would assume power/glitch problems overkill is usually cheap with giant caps avail at surplus prices id use one power for pic control and 3 for the motors with big caps on motors, like 100,000mfd. ive bought/sold them at hamfests for a few bucks, like $2-3 im not software guy but it sounds lik...

i'd look at timing, baud rate,,it sounds like a timing accumulation where baud gets mismatched
just a guess

Re: Connection with RS232 on easyPIC6
my guess is that you want to use the ep6 to program thru the serial,rs232 port
it works with usb only.thats where the picflash is connected.
rs232 is for your pic project's use.
the board can be powered by usb if its a good usb port
