First, this is just an idea.
Second, there are many example on the web to connect IDE Hard Disk to a PIC16F. IDE and CompactFlash are very similar ....

USB Host/OTG capabilities are avaible only on PIC24F and PIC32... if you want use with PIC18, you must interface your PIC with a controller, for example CYPRESS SL811 (or MAXIM controller...), and create a communication Library. Your products are fantastic !! I'm French MikroPascal developer, and i think that it's good to create or upgrade new compilers (MikroPascal PRO 2009 for PIC). BUT ! I think that the priority, nowadays, is in many Libraries: - FAT32 support - SDHC support - USB Host and Device capabilities - More USB...
